Nicholyn Selvanayagam

About Nicholyn

Nicholyn is the VP of International Medical Education and focuses on creating a community of IMGs who aspire to pursue a residency in North America, especially Canada. As a fellow IMG from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, Medical University of Bahrain, she understands the difficulty and obstacles IMGs face as they try to return home to practice medicine. She hopes that through TARMS, we have a network of physicians and residents who can support our Tamil-Canadians who study medicine abroad.

She is currently a PGY-2 in Family Medicine (Dalhousie University) in Saint John, NB and the chief resident for the program. Nicholyn hopes to have her own family practice on the east coast, with a focus on women’s health and low-risk obstetrics.

Favourite Tamil food: kothu roti & mutton rolls – I can’t choose one!
